Proposal-Documentary

The photography I will be doing will look like documentary photography because it will be a range of photographs that will tell a story, similar to journalism photography that portray the news, except it is news of my own choice. I will be doing this by taking photographs of everything important that happens at the animal shelter and the process that they go through every day.

The intended audience for my documentary project will be male and females who have a passion for animals. The intended age group will be 16-41 since the photographs could not only persuade people to adopt an animal but to also volunteer here. Sixteen is the youngest age they allow to volunteer. To show this I will have photographs of the process the volunteers have to go through everyday to make the pens clean.

I will be taking between 54-58 photographs and will be using 6 of them in my final photography. Two of the final photographs will be a before and after shot of a cat's cage, the other four will focus of the different ways of portraying the animals. These last shots will be taken as a close-up to capture the details of the animals.

To take these photographs I will have to request a time slot that I can come into Tameside Animal Shelter and take the photographs. For this I would have to pay for travel there and back which will be £4. I then have to get my final photographs printed out for an exhibit being held at the college, the price for the printing can vary depending on where I go. The deadline for the photography will be Friday 14th November so that the exhibit can be held afterward.
